We quickly realized that peoples’ frustration with e-learning software presented a compelling market opportunity. The cost and complexity of high-end tools was too high while open-source tools lacked important functionality and a professional touch. We saw a chance to make the world a better place by producing a fresh learning experience through a tool that would be productive and fun to use.
eFront enables functions such as community learning, supports the principle of collective knowledge and provides functionality towards personalized learning. eFront bridges the gap between Enterprise, Educational, Open-Source and Proprietary learning combining the best from all of them.

Epignosis Ltd, the vendor of eFront e-Learning and TalentLMS, was founded in Greece in November 2003 by Dimitris Tsigos and Athanasios Papagelis, two pioneers of the high-tech start-up community in Europe, being the first spin-out of the entrepreneurial ecosystem which led to the creation of StartTech Ventures. After years of cutting edge R&D, eFront was certified by the US DoD in 2006 and published as open-source in 2007, while a global network of VAR partners started growing in 2008. Today , Epignosis is headquartered in the United States, it has customers like Fujitsu and University of South Carolina and a global network of VAR partners in more than 60 countries. Fueling the learning revolution, Epignosis launched TalentLMS in 2012 in a quest to Democratize Learning and make best-of-breed learning technology accessible to small and medium sized organizations.
